In this week's episode we reflected on our journey's with our bodies and touched on desirability, unpacking the ways in which we were valued and devalued based on our physical bodies.

This week we're playing reflex and paying homage to the baddie who made having a podcast seem like a good idea in the first place, FLEX MAMI!!! We chat about the appeal of living in a bubble of delusion and theorise about romantic love & platonic infatuation.

This week we had our first guest on the podcast, our beautiful friend Louka (they/he). We do some light chit chat on the new queer Bachelorette, with the episodes main focus on radical lesbianism and the expectation of bisexual women to completely decentre men in their lives.

When confronting situations arise, as women/afabs the choice between rage and resignation poses itself as a 'caught between a rock and a hard place' type conundrum. We chat about the conflict between wanting to advocate for yourself vs preserving the finite energy each of us possesses and whether emotions must be constructive.

The failing lens we have adopted in the western world for viewing race/ethnicity consistently lacks nuance and prioritises perception over lineage. We discuss the labels we enjoy and find useful, as well as the ways in which hyper fixation on identity has hindered us.

Is freedom just another word for nothing left to lose? At times freedom of choice doesn't feel like liberation, but a burden. We chat about why we aren't doing the most and making moves, but instead often just shooting ourselves in the foot.

The rat race continues! Irrespective of gender, is the best thing we have in our arsenal to court people simply our ability to perform? Is 'that girl' just pandering to the male gaze veiled as the lifestyle we should all be aspiring to? We talk about how central appearance is in the queer community and the disconnect of not having 'the look' in a culture that prioritises it.
