Overcoming the Monster

1 John 5:1, 4-5

      1* Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God..For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world.  And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith. 5* Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Genesis 1:28  

      Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion...

     Subdue--overcome, quieten, or bring under control

Genesis 3:8-13

      And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselvesfrom the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.  Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"  So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."  And hesaid, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?"  Then the man said, "the woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."   And the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this that you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
