Overcoming Addiction Through Empowerment with Angie Manson

Listen Later

Angie Manson began using alcohol and other substances at only 11 years old, and ended up in rehab by the time she was 16. At 18 years old she had been arrested 7 times and was continuing to go down a path of crime and substance abuse. At 20 years old, she was facing 10 years in prison, and this is when everything changed for Angie.

Due to a compassionate judge, instead of prison time, Angie was sentenced to treatment for her drug addiction. A couple of months in, she started working and giving back and realized her true purpose was to help others overcome the struggles she once faced. After completing 3-years of probation and working full-time in treatment, that same Judge erased all of Angie’s criminal record and gave her a completely clean slate. Angie used the opportunity to turn her life around and dedicate her time and energy to helping other people walk the path to recovery. Angie has now worked in alcohol and drug rehabilitation full-time for 28 years and empowers individuals to stay sober and reach their true potential with her unique and copyrighted method.

In this episode of Alison Answers Mission Awake podcast, Angie explains why her program at Elevate Addiction Services is different from any other addiction rehab facility. Angie and her staff’s unique ability to help their patients reach the other side of addiction is because they know what it is like to find healing. In our society, we tend to glorify struggle and want to place blame wherever we can, but Angie offers a refreshing perspective of stripping away the labels and looking at everything for what it is. We all make mistakes, but we don't have to absorb that label that often comes with those mistakes.
