Losing his entire family by the age of 21 years old, multiple near death experiences, standing up in the face of Communist Poland, and attending underground Seminary--just to name a few before his papacy had even begun.

St. John Paul II teaches us lessons of hope, perseverance, courage, and trust in God's plan for our lives.
