Whooo! This was a difficult one to both conceive of and get out! We are constantly changing. When we are going through that process, we are in a state of transition. How do we deal with it and navigate that successfully? Wayne and Amber grapple with this question, and more, in this episode.

What is the role you're meant to fulfill? What are the roles you're filling right now in your life? Are your actions consistent with those roles? Have you taken on too much that you're not meant to? While Amber discusses Lincoln and the story of the Lion and the Woodcutter, Wayne and Amber dig into the roles we each fill in our lives, and the tools we are each given to fulfill those roles.
How do we get through times of stress? When things don't go our way? What happens when life simply becomes overwhelming?
We discuss having perspective. What does this mean? It means that we put our suffering in perspective. We realize that firstly, someone somewhere always has it worse, without minimizing our own pain. We talk about being grateful for the things that are already in our lives.
Secondly, we discuss taking action. In a situation that is less than ideal? Do something about it. Or, if it's something that we have no influence or control over, do something about the lens in which we view this situation. So seldom do we realize that most of the time, our mental anguish is caused by our own perspective. So we actively change it.
Thirdly, we discuss how the trials we go through in life are always temporary. This too shall pass.
Having the right perspective can make the difference between an unhappy and meaningless life in service to no one but yourself, or a happy and fulfilling life where what we do affects those around us in a positive way and gives our lives true meaning.
Enjoy as Wayne and Amber grow together and work through storms in their own lives, and become better podcasters along the way!
How do we progress towards our goals? Do we get frustrated with the progress we're making (or in a lot of cases, *lack* of progress)?
How much do we want whatever it is we want?
How can discipline actually keep us from reaching your goals, or is that even the right term to use? How about sacrifice and the idea of "giving up" something? What is it really?
How can we talk to ourselves in order to change how we see ourselves? How do we see ourselves affect whether or not we accomplish what we set out to do? How much does self-talk matter?
Wayne and Amber discuss and unpack Ep6's interview with Megan Robitaille, and on the way discover how we all should move towards something rather than away from something else. What does that mean? Listen in and find out!
We have our first guest on Overcoming the Storm!! Megan Robitaille is a fitness and life coach, and a human behavior specialist based in Austin, TX. We talk about accountability, discipline, fitness, NLP, the importance of self talk, and motivation by moving towards something rather than moving away from something. It's an incredible episode, and we are glad you're listening!
