Have you ever felt guilty for wanting something for yourself? Do you find yourself putting everyone's needs ahead of your own, even when you're emotionally exhausted?
You're not alone.
Welcome to a brand-new season of Fostering The Inner Child!
This season, we're doing something a little different.
Each week, you'll step into a Christian coaching conversation where we explore the real-life struggles women face, including people-pleasing, childhood wounds, anxiety, false guilt, boundaries, and discovering their identity in Christ.
But here's what makes this season unique.
These are real coaching exercises between me, Coach Mel, and artificial intelligence (AI/SI) portraying fictional clients.
I personally guide each coaching conversation, asking thoughtful questions and exploring situations inspired by the struggles Christian women experience. The AI/SI takes on the role of a fictional client, allowing you to hear the coaching process unfold without exposing anyone's private experiences.
In today's episode, you'll meet Sarah, a fictional woman who struggles with the guilt of disappointing others. Together, we explore what happens when a woman who has spent years caring for everyone else begins questioning whether she's allowed to consider her own needs.
Through faith-based reflection and coaching questions, we explore the connection between people-pleasing, responsibility, guilt, and identity in Christ.
A Note About Transparency and Confidentiality
Sarah is not an actual coaching client. She is an AI/SI-simulated character participating in a coaching exercise with me. The published audio uses AI-generated voices to present the conversation.
All actual client coaching sessions are treated as private and confidential. No real client conversations, recordings, or identifying information are used in this podcast series.
This weekly series is designed to demonstrate my personal coaching process, encourage personal reflection, and offer a biblically grounded perspective on everyday struggles. It is educational and does not replace professional mental health care.

Fostering The Inner Child — Helping Christian women move beyond survival and discover who they are in Christ.
Do you feel like you can’t relax until everyone around you is okay?
For many women, caring for others can quietly turn into feeling responsible for everyone’s moods, problems, and emotions. In this episode, we talk about the difference between compassion and carrying what was never yours to carry.
We’ll explore how childhood patterns, people-pleasing, fear of disappointing others, and constantly “reading the room” can follow us into adulthood, and how faith, boundaries, and greater self-awareness can help us respond differently.
You’ll also hear Biblical encouragement for learning to love people deeply without feeling responsible for fixing everything they feel.
If you’ve ever thought, “I just need everyone to be okay so I can finally breathe,” this episode is for you.
This episode explores why many women automatically scan others' moods—often because unpredictability in childhood trained them to be hyper-alert—and how that protective habit can become exhausting when interpretations replace simple observations.
You’ll hear a practical three-step exercise (observe, name the story, consider alternatives), a reflection question, and a short prayer to help you pause, renew your mind, and respond with discernment rather than fear.
This episode helps Christian women distinguish Godly conviction from fear-driven condemnation, offering simple questions to slow down anxiety and respond with truth.
It explores how people-pleasing patterns from childhood can shape your relationship with God and gives practical steps to move from fear to trust while staying obedient and growing in grace.
Loneliness is no longer just an emotional struggle; it has become a spiritual battleground.
In this episode, we expose what I call the demonic trio: irrational anxiety, fear, and panic—and how these spirits work together to isolate you, torment your mind, and keep you trapped in cycles of loneliness and withdrawal.
If you struggle with anxiety that doesn’t make sense, fear that feels overwhelming, or panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere, this episode is for you.
We’ll talk about how these spirits often enter early in life, sometimes through childhood trauma, sometimes later through adult experiences, and how they gradually build mental strongholds over time. You’ll learn why many people around you may not understand what you’re going through, why isolation becomes a coping mechanism, and how the enemy uses lies to gain legal ground in the mind.
I also share my personal testimony of overcoming this trio after more than a decade of torment, and why freedom is possible, even if the journey includes layers of healing and sanctification.
In this episode, we cover:
How anxiety often enters first and opens the door to fear and panic
Why loneliness fuels anxiety and panic, and how isolation becomes a trap
The difference between spirit, soul, and body, and why the mind is a battlefield
How Scripture breaks mental strongholds
Why identity in Christ is key to lasting freedom
Practical, biblical steps toward healing and deliverance
This conversation is not meant to glorify darkness but to bring truth, light, and hope. You are not weak. You are not broken. And you are not alone.

In this episode of Overcoming Trauma, Christian Trauma Recovery Strategist Mel shares a deeply personal and eye-opening experience that reveals the often unseen spiritual realities we face as believers. This is not a conversation meant to glorify darkness, but to bring light, discernment, and awareness to the spiritual battles that Scripture tells us are real.
Drawing from Ephesians 6:12, Mel walks listeners through a true story that unfolded during a family trip, highlighting how spiritual opposition can manifest through atmospheres, dreams, and subtle disruptions, especially when there is a calling on your life. Through Biblical wisdom, personal discernment, and the authority we have in Christ, this episode teaches how to remain grounded, unafraid, and spiritually alert.
You’ll learn the importance of prayer, spiritual awareness, and using your God-given authority to cancel assignments of fear and oppression. This episode is a reminder that while we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, we are never powerless, and greater is He who lives in us.
Welcome to Overcoming Trauma, a faith-based podcast with Coach Mel, Christian Trauma Recovery Strategist. This space is for those who are tired of living under the weight of anxiety, fear, emotional wounds, and intrusive thoughts, and are ready to experience healing through truth, Scripture, and spiritual clarity.
Each episode dives into the connection between trauma, the mind, and spiritual strongholds. You’ll learn how thoughts are formed, how lies take root, and how the enemy works to distort identity, especially in those who have experienced trauma. Through biblical teaching, practical application, and compassionate guidance, Coach Mel helps you recognize false beliefs, break legal agreements with lies, and replace them with God’s truth.
This podcast is for anyone seeking emotional freedom, a renewed identity in Christ, and a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare in the mind. If you’re ready to stop believing lies and start walking in truth, healing, and peace, this podcast is for you.
Anxiety doesn’t always scream; it whispers. In this episode, The Whispers of Lies, we uncover how intrusive thoughts and physical symptoms of anxiety take hold, especially after trauma. I share my personal journey through severe panic attacks, somatic anxiety, and fear that once controlled my life, and how God revealed the spiritual battle beneath it all. You’ll learn how lies become mental strongholds, why anxiety can feel so physical, and how Scripture restores identity and leads to real freedom. This episode is for the woman who feels broken, exhausted, or afraid, and is ready for healing, not just coping.
There is a loneliness that comes with anxiety and panic attacks that no one really talks about.
It’s the kind of loneliness you feel when your anxiety shows up without warning, your body feels out of control, and the people around you tell you to “just calm down,” “control it,” or “get over it.” It’s the isolation of feeling misunderstood, unseen, and emotionally abandoned—even when you’re not physically alone.
In this episode, I open up about the silent battle of anxiety, panic attacks, and the mental exhaustion that comes from living in constant survival mode. I share my own story of sitting alone in a full-blown panic attack, reaching out for help, and realizing no one truly understood what was happening inside me.
We talk about:
The emotional and physical symptoms of anxiety no one understands
Why panic makes you feel isolated—even around people
The mental torment of intrusive thoughts and constant fear
Why numbness becomes a survival response
The deeper spiritual roots of anxiety and panic
How trauma opens doors that manifest as anxiety and fear
After 33 years of living with chronic panic and anxiety, God led me through a journey of healing that showed me this battle was not only mental, but spiritual. Today, I live free, and I now help others understand what is really happening beneath the surface.
If you’ve ever felt alone in your anxiety, this episode is for you. You are not broken. You are not weak. And you are not alone.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing one of the most vulnerable parts of my story — the years I lived emotionally numb, spiritually disconnected, and tormented by intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and panic. What I thought was “just trauma” was actually spiritual oppression rooted in generations of pain, childhood dysfunction, and patterns I never recognized until adulthood.
For decades, I believed something was wrong with me. I lived in survival mode, battled overwhelming fear, and learned to dissociate just to get through the day. Even as a Christian, I felt alone, misunderstood, and trapped in a cycle of shame, depression, and spiritual attack.
But everything changed at 33 years old, the moment God revealed that I wasn’t broken… I was under spiritual warfare.
In this episode, I walk you through:
✨ What emotional numbness really is
If you’ve ever felt numb, overwhelmed, “not yourself,” or spiritually attacked… this episode is for you. There is freedom. There is healing. And you are not alone.
