A Strictly Soundtracks show with no 80s music? It can’t be true! Well, it is and its fun! This week the team tackle the streaming series Overcompensating, the 2025 coming of age comedy-drama from online creator Bennito Skinner. He plays the main character Benny, a high school football hero and valedictorian who goes to college and starts his journey of coming out as a gay man. Not all goes smoothly as Benny, his new best friend Connie and the friends and families all come along for the ride. You’ll hear music from Britney Spears, Charlie XCX (who also appears in the show and is an executive producer), Maroon 5, Sky Ferrera, Nicky Minaj, Lorde and more.
