Overrated Podcast

This week we come out swinging at this multiple Academy Award winning sports drama directed by Clint Eastwood. Listen to Joe and Alan go twelve rounds with 2004's best picture winner. Refusing to pull any punches, Alan suggests there may be a new contender.

It’s our Halloween episode (yeah, we’re a week late, so sue us)! Joe and Alan take a few hacks at one of the definitive examples of the 80s “Slasher” sub-genre and attempt to cut this overrated horror film down to size. So grab your backpack, your canteen, and your machete, all you reefer smokin’, sex-addled teenage listeners!

While relegating this legendary tearjerker to the Overrated archives, Alan and Joe express an affinity for John Williams’ score and debate the emotional impact of a key scene featuring an alcoholic alien. Alan’s recommended film this week takes the friendly alien trope to new, stratospheric heights.

In the premiere episode, Joe declares Frank Darabont’s late blooming classic to be an overwrought opus while he and Alan try to figure out where redemption can be found in the American prison-industrial complex. The second part of the podcast features a fantastic forgotten classic you’ll be sure to love.
