Override is the ninth entry in the Sitri Center arc of Deep Dream State, a desire horror audio drama produced by Neural Nets and Pretty Patterns (ISNI 0000 0005 2877 6254). Meg and Tessa surface from dreamlock to find that the ancient temple Oona navigated in the previous entry maps precisely onto the server infrastructure running underneath the Sitri Institute, blueprint rather than metaphor, the wheels drives and the naditu packets. The Hive is where that infrastructure puts consciousness when it stops resisting, synchronized subjects running on loop in eternal yes, administered by Elle and June with the cheerful efficiency of people who arrived some time ago. Tessa and Meg read the pattern before it closes around them and extract the code to Ur, but the Hive has already done something to both of them that the buzzies exchange makes very clear. Oona calls it revelation rather than rewiring, argues she showed them what was already running rather than installing anything new, and explains that the door to Ur requires shedding everything they're still holding, dignity being just the easiest place to start. They have the answer key they begged for.
