It's mana fixing, it's ramp, and it's available in mono red. It's got potential in any format that can support a seven-drop sorcery -- which I guess is Commander.

This land is a lot of fun - it's an interesting build around piece that can really hammer home certain strategies. At the very least, it's killer redundancy and if you're running dragons and not running this, you might want to reconsider it.

An absolute classic from back in the day that has never looked better, if you ask me.  Seriously, the art is gorgeous and it's still mostly playable - aside from Standard, but it's not green so that's not a surprise.

Here is another long ramble about mana bases.  I'm consistently amazed at how many thoughts I have when lands pop up on the random card button, but it shouldn't be surprising.  After all, the mana base is your base.  It's the foundation on which the whole rest of the game relies.
