Part of the mission of this podcast is to highlight the creators, leaders, survivors, and thrivers out there in the world. Well, Mr. Joe Buckner is all of the above.
In three years, he went from being a homeless ex-convict to becoming a 6-figure earner, successful entrepreneur, community leader, founder and visionary of Fort Collins' only boutique boxing studio, Beautifully Savage: The Art of Pugilism.
There are moments in life when we find ourselves completely open, vulnerable, and ready to share our truth for reasons that reach beyond fear, and into the heart of our purpose. My conversation with Joe Buckner was one of these moments.
He is more than just a powerful example of someone whose embraced the dark lessons of his life, he's a man who is building a legacy of hope, and inspiring others to fight for the lives that they want.
So if you're curious to find out what it means to let go of the person you are, in order to become the person you're meant to be, this episode is for you.
Isaac Kim is the founder and CEO of Pilot Men's Grooming & Skin Care, a company that creates natural, organic, cruelty free products, that are sustainably sourced, and made in the USA.
It's a rare occasion for me to ever get excited about something like soap, or moisturizer, but in my opinion, Pilot Men's has created some of the best grooming products on the planet.
I had the chance to meet Isaac at the Unique Markets Los Angeles (which is this really cool, curated, modern pop-up marketplace filled with the best independent designers, artists and entrepreneurs.)
Just being able to chat with him for a few minutes, and experience the knowledge, generosity, and passion that went into creating Pilot Men's, I was already sold, and I hadn't even tried the products yet.
Fast forward to today, the Castile Soap, the Best Bar, and Proper Pomade are a huge part of my morning joy, and the non negotiable staples of my daily grooming routine.
In this episode we talk about the journey of building the company from the ground, recognizing unique opportunities, the importance of family, and the powerful spirit of giving that the foundation of Pilot Men's Grooming & Skin Care is built upon.
Nkem Ndefo is one of the most inspirational individuals I've ever had the pleasure of chatting with. She is someone who knows her purpose, and lives her purpose, with a natural ability to connect, and inspire others to discover their own power.
She is the Founder of Lumos Transforms, and the creator of The Resilience Toolkit, a system of movement and mindfulness tools that teaches an embodied awareness of our own stress, and relaxation cycles.
The framework of the Resilience Toolkit provides individuals with evidence based tools to settle the nervous system, reduce stress, and effectively connect with our own internal resources.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse, and Nurse Midwife, Nkem has experienced the most potent moments of transformation in people's lives, and the insights she shared in this episode challenged me to dig deeper into what it means to really live well.
We explore what effective rest, and recovery actually looks like, and why it's vital to prepare for change, and build our internal resources before we can move forward through trauma and stress.
Have you spent years climbing the ladder, only to discover you've climbed the wrong one? This is where Kathryn Morrison comes in.
She's a Fulfillment Coach who helps high achievers that feel trapped in jobs that look good on paper, create fulfilling lives that have them jumping out of bed on Monday mornings.
Kathryn is more than an entrepreneur, she's an inspirational example of someone who has done the deep work, and pushed beyond the idea of the "good life" in order to create a truly great one.
The insights she shared in this episode literally gave me goosebumps, and brought such a powerful awareness to some of those simple, yet life changing truths that often prevent us from living our purpose.
We talk about the fear of failure, learning to process negative emotions, and how to get leverage over those "false pleasures" that numb our awareness.
Dr. Andra Brosh is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, a board certified Holistic Nutritionist, and the founder of Psyche & Salt, an integrative psychology practice that bridges the gap between traditional psychotherapy and western medicine.
This interview will open your eyes, and leave you with a deeper understanding of what prevents people from reaching out for support, and the impact that: fear, guilt, shame, and vulnerability can have on our long term growth and healing.
We explore divorce, family, burn-out, and how we can turn life's challenging transitions into opportunities for emotional and physical change.
In school, we don't learn how to manage our emotions, how to cultivate self awareness, or how to broaden our understanding of the purpose of pain.
As we roll into the new year, my mission is to answer the question: "How can we crush those boundaries that prevent us from doing the deep work?"
With my next round of guests to include practitioners in: mental health, resilience, and mindfulness, we'll be exploring the tools, techniques, routines, and coping strategies that strengthen the framework of the mind/body connection.
It's time to push on that "Wall of Fear" to find out what we're truly capable of.
Brenda Florida is a certified life coach, and someone who lives the phrase: "You have to live it, to give it."
She has moved over thirteen times since she was 18, left two marriages, and one partner, has had four children, owned two businesses, built a successful career in real estate, and this is just the beginning of her story.
In this episode we talk about the roadblocks that get in the way of our personal growth, how to navigate the end of a relationship, and what it means to become liberated to our own wisdom.
There are so many powerful lessons, and insights to enjoy in Episode 6 with…the agent of change, and the "Queen of Transitions," Brenda Florida.

In 2018, she was faced with the very difficult news, that she would no longer be able to conceive a child naturally, and that freezing her eggs would be her best (and only option). The only problem, is that egg freezing is banned in Singapore for single Women.
So Ase decided to use her name, and her voice to speak up, and become an advocate for egg freezing in Singapore. The wave of public support, and heartfelt messages she received, helped to elevate the conversation within the government, and spread global awareness to the unique struggles facing many Singaporean women.
