Hi all,
Tim Plett is away this month, so a few of us from the community will be taking over the talkie bits for the next few weeks, and I’m up first.
This week I want to explore the space for generosity and grace in the way we treat each other by considering the (often far too passionate) debate around a little piece of punctuation sometimes called the Oxford comma. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you likely live a far richer and more fulfilling life than I do; consider yourself lucky. With a little help from Leo Tolstoy, Sigmund Freud, and old J.C. funniest visual image, we’ll consider that timeless question first posed by indie-rock/pop band Vampire Weekend: “Who gives a **** about an Oxford comma?”
This week, and all this month, we’ll be gathering online only. Our Facebook group can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/236618827497208
I’m double-booked for music and speaking this week, so I’m going to forego the singing portion on Sunday. It would just be too much Tim. We will still have community time, and that will begin at 10:45.
Hope to see you all there!
