After a few days of declining COVID-19 cases, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced a rise of 615 new cases out of nearly 4,800 tests in the last 24-hour monitoring period. On the first day of September, Governor Asa Hutchinson announced 273 new cases of COVID-19 at his press briefing -- as well as fewer test results, numbering 3,530. But following the recent police shootings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Jacob Blake, opponents are calling for the money to be invested elsewhere.

The Benton County Circuit Court has ruled that the decision about what to do with the dam at Lake Bella Vista rests with the City of Bentonville.
