Over 5,500 Indigenous women and girls have gone missing according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Justice. Indigenous women are murdered at a rate ten times higher than any other ethnicity. Students from Stillwell High School in Oklahoma investigated and reported on the epidemic of missing and murdered indigenous women.

Southwestern Electric Power Company, which provides service to portions of western and northwest Arkansas, is charging more for electricity starting this month. The Arkansas Public Service Commission recently approved a permanent base rate hike for the utility, as well as temporary energy recovery cost fees.

Job Path assists high school students and young adults with disabilities, ages 16 to 24, to prepare for the workforce. The federal and state funded program trains a hundred northwest Arkansas youth annually, says regional Job Path manager, Laura Smith. The group Responsible Growth Arkansas submitted the signatures for the recreational marijuana ballot initiative to the Secretary of State’s office. The group collected over 193,000 signatures across the state.
