Children of seasonal migrant workers in Arkansas enrolled in public schools are eligible under a federal migrant education program to receive supplemental instruction and special support services. Northwest Arkansas Education Service Cooperative's newly-hired migrant student specialist is tasked with overseeing the program in districts with migrant student populations.

The University of Arkansas’ Eleanor Mann School of Nursing, in partnership with the U of A Athletic Department, will set up the Tiny Tusks Breastfeeding and Infant Support Tent a couple hours before each home game. Thomas A. Dorsey was born in Georgia in 1899. At 12, he already displayed great skill on the piano and moved to Chicago as part of the Great Migration. He studied music composition at the Chicago College of Music and Arranging. Dorsey then began a career as a composer and arranger, first as a blues musician then later making a mark on American gospel music. His songs were performed by well-known singers like Mahalia Jackson, Elvis Presley and Rosetta Tharpe. This is his story.

There is a medical residency shortage across the country. There are more students grudating with medical degrees, but about 10,000 will not be able to find a residency placement, which is critical to becoming a physician. The shortage, which is felt in Arkansas more than elsewhere, has prompted a bill from U.S. Senator John Boozman.
