HOLLYWOOD.CON will have its first sneak debut screening Saturday Night at the Eureka Springs Auditorium. We speak with producer Ben Boorem and director and star Mika Boorem about how the film came to be, and why it is being debuted in Eureka Springs.

James McCune Smith was born in 1813 in New York. His mother is believed to have bought her freedom, and he attended the African Free School in New York, and eventually earned his bachelor's, master's and medical degree from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 1837. He returned to New York and opened a medical practice and pharmacy that served interracial clientele, and he was a vocal critic of the institution of slavery. This is his story.

The Arkansas Legislature has proposed an amendment to the state constitution that would change the process by which citizens can propose changes to the Arkansas Constitution. Janine Parry, political science professor at the University of Arkansas and director of the Arkansas Poll, tells us what the proposed changes entail and how those changes could make it more difficult for citizens to get amendments on the ballot.
