North Arkansas Regional Medical Center and North Arkansas College in Harrison are collaborating on one of four community paramedic programs in the state. More than a half-dozen EMS students have been certified as community paramedics, who work with patients in their homes to manage non-critical health conditions at no cost. We learn more about community paramedicine and about the college certification course.

The city of Fayetteville is partnering with Hark at the Center for Collaborative Care in Rogers to create the Help a Neighbor Fund. The program will feature a mobile platform where residents can text to donate to the fund to help homeless residents with financial and basic services, and those in need will have access to a website and phone number to receive assistance. We learn more about the program and how organizers plan for it to mesh with other existing assistance programs.

Leigh Wood, KUAF's membership director, lets us know how the Fall fundraising Month of September ended for 91.3. She also reminds us why the station still conducts on-air fundraisers multiple times a year and explains why those live fundraisers are shorter than they once were.

We get an update on Fayetteville's new bike-share system, which has had more than 5,000 rides since launching in mid-September. We also hear about some of the issues that have arisen since the system's launch, and get tips on how to be a more conscientious bike-share user.

A $2.2 million upgrade project is complete at the Springdale Municipal Airport. Upgrades include a resurfaced runway and installation of LED lighting. The project was paid for through grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics.

Still on the Hill has released albums of story songs about Beaver Lake, the Buffalo River, and the Ozarks. Their latest project presents story songs about historic Cane Hill. The two join us to talk about the new album, which will be presented to the public in a series of upcoming concerts .

The Bella Vista Animal Shelter was established in 1985 to serve the then-unincorporated village of Bella Vista. Today, staff also take in abandoned and abused animals from the surrounding rural region while operating on a fixed budget. The shelter will host its 12th annual Arkansas State Championship Dachshund Races at 11 a.m. Oct. 6 at Loch Lomond Softball Complex. The fundraising event is free and open to the public.

Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights" is a triptych, one panel of which is a depiction of Hell. Lynn Jacobs, a distinguished professor of art history at the University of Arkansas, has studied Bosch and the messages he placed in his work more than 500 years ago. This week, she'll give a public talk about her research titled "Hieronymus Bosch and the Vision of Hell."
