Northwest Health , headquartered in Springdale, has partnered with the prestigious Mayo Clinic headquartered in Rochester, Minn.. The Mayo Clinic is also the subject of a forthcoming Ken Burns documentary to air this autumn on PBS. Mayo descendant Lilli Mayo Weivoda describes the medical legacy of the Mayo family, some of whom have put down roots in the Arkansas Ozarks.

The University of Arkansas recently made several changes to its sexual assault reporting resources web page. It's a move student Gillian Gullett applauds after wrapping up her Don’t Keep It Under Cover campaign earlier this year. Gullett spent the month of April carrying a sheet on campus to draw attention to what she felt was a need for better sexual assault reporting resources after she went through the sexual assault reporting process.

Rogers voters are being asked to extend an existing one-cent sales tax that would allow the city to raise money for improvements to roads, parks, and the police and fire departments. Election day for the bond issue is Aug. 14.

A biannual review categorizes more than a thousand Arkansas waterways according to levels of impairment, with the worst cases requiring federal and state intervention. This year, several sections of the Buffalo River Watershed were included on the list for the first time, categorized as lower priority, but the Buffalo River Watershed Alliance says the watershed requires high priority federal attention.
