The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality has completed review of a drilling study beneath two wastewater sewage lagoons on C&H Hog Farms, an industrial swine breeding operation located six miles upstream of the Buffalo National River near Mt. Judea in Newton County. C&H Hog Farms is currently permitted to house 4,000 piglets and 2500 sows at any given time.

Thousands in Little Rock attended the Women’s March for Arkansas Saturday as a show of support for sister events across the country and world. Comments regarding women made by President Trump, which surfaced during the campaign, inspired women’s marches the day after his inauguration. According to organizers, the Arkansas march was one of more than 650 similar marches being held both nationally and internationally.

Representative Charlie Collins has pushed a bill that will allow for licensed concealed carry holders to be able to have their guns on college campuses. The bill died in a Senate committee that Senator Joyce Elliott sat on last session. Current law allows for college boards to make the decision, but all in the state of Arkansas have opted not to.
