Today on the 5: There is a group working on a multiplayer mod for the game Just Cause 2. They've been doing periodic open beta tests with large groups of people, and last weekend I managed to get on and experience the mod.

Today on the 5: Amazon recently had their big event to unveil the new Kindle line. After the announcement, there was an indication that the new Kindle Fires would have ads built-in, similar to what was started in the last generation but missing an "opt out" ability. This got a lot of people all riled up, but hasn't this always been Amazon's plan with these devices?

Today on the 5: One of the great uses of the new iPad that people often cite is reading comics. I haven't bought a comic book in a long time, but I decided to jump back in and see what the experience is like on the tablet.

Today on the 5: I just finished playing the new game Sleeping Dogs. It got great critical reviews as a Hong Kong version of Grand Theft Auto, which was enough for me to get it and play through. My review.

Today on the 5: Boing Boing had a series of books that were described as "enthralling", and one title in particular jumped out at me. My review of the psychic novel Rasputin's Bastards.

Today on the 5: I was recommended a movie recently that takes a new approach to the overly done zombie genre. Wasting Away, or Aaah! Zombies in the US, is a low budget movie that overcomes it's shortcomings with an original take on a tired idea.

Today on the 5: The new series of Doctor Who premiered over the weekend. I haven't watched the show since Matt smith's debut episode, but I figured I should give it another try and see if it would grab me again.
