Ozone Nightmare

Today on the 5: A while back Len Kabasinski and I chatted about a remarkable movie titled The Match-Stick Flame. The sequel has been released, and against all odds it manages to deliver a lot of the same magic the first film did!

Today on the 5: The streaming service MUBI brought a movie to my attention that I had never heard of before. The film is What Happened Was, a stage play adaptation that I found to be incredibly good.

Today on the 5: I've been replaying the video game Control, which remains a visually stunning and wildly imaginative that I love going back to. It also has one of the better foundations that could translate to a live action TV or streaming series.

This week we're talking Willow, Junji Ito: Maniac, The Falling, and Baba Yaga. Show music by HeartBeatHero and OGRE. Support the show!

Today on the 5: After enjoying the previous The Science Of... books by authors Meg Hafdahl and Kelly Florence, I naturally picked up and read the latest entry titled The Science Of Witchcraft. In a complete lack of surprise, I enjoyed it immensely.

Today on the 5: I've watched the first two episodes of the revival series of Night Court. It's obviously very early on to make a concrete judgement, but I think this new version of the show might work once it smooths out a few things.

Today on the 5: Another entry from my week of COVID Cinema is a 1973 Italian giallo titled Baba Yaga. While the final film is a flawed product, the style of the movie overcame those issues enough that I really enjoyed it.

Today on the 5: While I was laying around with COVID, I watched quite a few movies and shows. One of them is The Falling, a 1986 film that attempts to combine The Andromeda Strain and The Thing.

This week we're talking LastPass, thinking your way to better health, Beyond Terror, and Copenhagen Cowboy. Show music by HeartBeatHero and OGRE. Support the show!

Hey folks, bit of a different show today. Not really a show, more of an update. Looks like my days of dodging COVID are finally going to get end, so I'm gonna take a break from 5s for a bit until I'm sure the storm has passed. Stay safe everybody!
