Pentecost is about power! Acts 1:8, “And you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…”.   4:33 3With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all.” Pentecost is about the power of the Holy Spirit. But how is this power demonstrated?  What are the distintive marks of Holy Spirit power?  Paul's prayer in Ephesians answers that question and challenges many of our contemporary views of power.  

This message was preached to our youth and those who love them.

The Christian life is a race with a starting point, a challenging middle, and a finish. Though the race is long, tiring and difficult, God provides sufficient grace for every part of the race; this grace is accessed by faith that is forward looking to the finish line and its promised reward.

This is text and message about how Christian community (the church) and her weekly gathering (liturgy) is indispensible to the gospel because it’s the product of the gospel! The warning part of the text is sobering to say the least. We mustn’t remove this warning from it’s context and turn it into a Calvinism/Arminian debate! The warning is simply stating the plain facts about what can happen to people if they disregard fellowship, discipleship, and weekly worship.
