   Jesus shocked his disciples when he took on the form of a slave and washed their feet during the Last Supper. Yet, in doing so, Jesus set an example of how we are to lead as followers of The Way. Unlike the world which prioritizes status, we are to prioritize service. This mode of living is the only antidote to the broken world we live in. Join us this Sunday as we discuss what Servant Leadership looks like in our world.

   Jesus said taught us to love our enemy and pray for those who persecute us. These words are impossible to live out without the power of the Holy Spirit.    Expectations directly impact how we experience life. When it comes to faith, what we expect from it will also impact how we approach Jesus. In the Gospels, Jesus lays out a framework for what can be expected: life with abundance, salvation, and death. The last part sounds like an oxymoron, but in death Jesus also creates the possibility for new life. To attain this new life, we must first go through pain and suffering.

   Jesus calls himself the Good Shepherd and makes a distinction between himself and others who he calls "hired hands." The difference between these two types of leaders is huge and will determine how those under their care will grow. Which leader to you follow? The Good Shepherd or a hired hand?

In light of the resurrection and because of the promise of a "new heaven and new earth," we are called to live countercultural lives.    Jesus is the Light of the World. The purpose of light is to illuminate reality and protect against the forces of evil. When we get close to Jesus, he shows us our reality and gives us space to repent and believe.
