Pack and Unpack

Wrapped AK trip one and dive right into immersive family time. With revelations and articulations on the biochemical side of parenthood.

Ruminations. Familiar sentiment, new angles.

A two-part series. Together, these two episodes document how it is I pay for and have paid for this outdoorsy, adventurous life. I think many of us are curious how adventuring "lifers" do what they do. How much outside support do they have? What are they giving up? How do they actually pay their bills? This is my attempt to show just one example of how it can be done. I have had great privilege, and I also think that my journey is replicable, if you so desire.

(I say "episode 6", but it is really episode 7). Some space, time and energy emerges for bigger mountains, further reflection, and the cycle and trajectory of early child rearing.

I've got a name for the 'pod, and I dive in on some thoughts on outdoor culture and the nature of outdoor identity and commitment.

Family life ramps up. Baby gets rowdy. "In the thick of it".

Everything ramps up, including the speculation on how the world works...

A tough day on my feet, and then a profound and liberating revelation.

Musings on returning to work in the mountains.
