The Packers lost again on Sunday to the Steelers in another close game, and while it's a bummer to see the Packers lose, it's probably all for the best. One of the main reasons we lost on Sunday was an inability to stop this Steelers rushing attack. This led to Matt Lafleur getting a little chippy and defensive in his press conferences last week as if there's a lot of pressure on him to win these games from the front office. Lots of injuries to veteran players on our roster gave a lot of young guys opportunities to play, and those young players did not disappoint. We had several notable players have very bright moments in the Sundays win over the Rams. This type of success from the youth on this team, reminds us of the fact that Brian Gutekunst truly didn't do enough to tear down this team at the trade deadline, not only so we could get more draft capital and more salary cap space, but probably even more important is it allows these young players to actually play and develop. Brian Gutekunst did trade away Rasul Douglas at the deadline on Halloween and didn't make any bad deals to add players to this team, but it still feels like Gutekunst missed a big opportunity to commit to a full rebuild and help ensure our chances at the #1 overall pick. While the rebuild could be something Gutekunst could control, he can't control the amount of teams the Packers will be facing with backup QBs due to the significant amount of QB injuries this season, this might be a bigger reason why the Packers will struggle to lose every game the rest of the year, which takes us into our preview of the Rams game without Stafford playing on the other side.
