  • James 3:1-12
James 3:1-12 | Pastor Rick Cornejo
James has been showing us that what we believe, what we have faith in, will show in our actions. In chapter three, he focuses in on our tongues, the words we speak. Words have power—they can build up or tear down, direct or destroy. He challenges us to tame the tongue and use our speech to encourage, bring wisdom, and speak life over others. No one can tame the tongue on their own, but with God’s help, transformation is possible!

  • James 2:14-26
    James 2:14-26 | Rick Cornejo
True faith isn’t just something we say—it’s something we live. James reminds us that if we have Jesus in our hearts, it should be evident in our lives. While works don’t save us, real faith naturally produces visible change. Just as Jesus didn’t only talk about love and obedience but demonstrated them in action, our trust in God should be reflected in how we live. Faith isn’t stagnant; it moves, proves itself, and results in obedience. As Hebrews 11:1 tells us, faith shows the reality of what we hope for.
James challenges us to examine whether our faith is real. If we truly trust God, it should be clear in our actions. Salvation is by grace alone through faith, but when we are saved, transformation follows.

  • Romans 1:16-32
    Pastor Ed Rea
Romans 1:16-32 | Good News & Bad News
The Book of Romans begins with Good News—Jesus Christ came and paid the price for our sins so that we might spend eternity in His presence. But before we can fully grasp the Good News, we must first understand the Bad News—we are all sinners, and apart from God, we have no righteousness of our own.
God could not simply dismiss our sins. A judge who lets the guilty go free is not righteous. Instead, God established a righteous basis for forgiveness—He paid the price Himself through Jesus Christ. That’s the Good News!
No matter how deep your sin, God’s grace is deeper. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) Confess, believe, and receive His forgiveness—all unrighteousness is cleansed in Him!
    1) God's Righteousness: verses 16-17
    2) God's Anger: verses 18-27
    3) A Sin List: verses 28-32
