Padres wrap up a 9-1 homestand with highlights including Nando going Yardo 3 times in a game, for the first time in his career! Lamet & Snell hit the IL, Weathers gets recalled and speaking of weather the Padres learn what Rain Delays mean on their 2-1 road trip to Cincinnati. Welcome back to the pod Friar Faithful. For the first time in 13 years, the Padres sweep the Dodgers and are now 7-0 since "Opening Day" at Petco Park. The Crone Zone is en fuego, Manny is being Manny and making amazing plays in the infield and outfield and hitting bombs to boot. Kim is heating up as well and Victor is doing more than just catching for us. As we head into the weekend, the Padres look to sweep the Diamondbacks and complete a 10-game home stand undefeated. We sit 10 games above .500 and only 2.5 games back after a LONG 20 games in 20 days. We head to the Big Apple and hope to finish our seven games with the Mets in a better place than our last ten games! We need Grish back and we need some bats to get hot! For the first time since 2009, the Padres go 9-0 at Petco Park. FTJ returns to SLAM DIEGO, Jake Rakes and the Crone Zone appears to be an impenetrable force field! Darvish continues to shine, Melancon leads the majors in saves, and the Padres lead the majors in the W column. As we post this, we're 9 outs away from a very good plane ride! Two series sweeps for the Padres, the first was over the Cards, our first sweep of them in over a decade and the second was over the ROX, only giving up 1 run to them in three games. Profar, Mateo, FTJ & Hosmer are all back. Yu was dominant, Lamet got his 1st W of the season, FTJ 4-4 in his return, Pham, Kim and Manny all go yard and Jake Rakes an inside-the-parker in day baseball at Petco.

Slam Diego returns with Victor Caratini joining in on the fun, as his blast in the double-header and Manny's 5 RBI's in Tuesday's game are the real highlights of our eventful road trip to Denver. The bad news is that Covid got us and the Padres are without FTJ, Profar, Mateo, Myers and Hosmer for the next 10-14 days! The good news is we got another series win, we're over the 20 win mark, we're only two games back, still in second place and the Cardinals and Sunday Night Baseball await our return to Slam Diego. We return from the 15-day IL with a longer than normal Pod to recap the last five series the Padres have had since our last pod. We touch on that amazing Dodgers series, briefly discuss the DBacks two game set, talk about taking series wins from the Pirates, and our two series agains the Giants! We are now caught up and sit two games behind those Giants as we head to Coors Field in Denver. We have a double-header today as yesterday's game got snowed out! The Padres will look to keep those bats hot from our last game in SF and our pitching will look to keep our league leading ERA in tact. Not the three games we were looking for to get us to LA, however, we're 20 games into the season, only our second series lost and we sit firmly at .500!

Joe Musgrove continues his dominance on the mound with a career-high 13 strikeouts, Jayce gets ejected for the first time, and the Padres bats went cold in preparation for our trip up north!

The first three games of this series didn't disappoint! We had an extra innings game, end with a starting infielder on the mound and a starting pitcher in the outfield. We had a catch, that only Mookie could make! And we got a W off the pitcher aside from all of their relievers that Padre fans dislike the most! Thankfully we get three games off from talking about the Dodgers and get to take a breath and get to see some familiar faces with the Brewers coming to town. Our Padres return home from a successful 5-2 road trip and those boys in blue are coming down the 5, hopefully stuck in traffic! We lost back-to-back games for only the second time this year, but all of that doesn't matter as our 1st three-game set with the Dodgers is upon us. We've got three great pitching matchups for the weekend ahead at Petco! Hope to see Petco Park in Brown and Gold with very small blue elements.
