Winter is upon us and it time to turn within for reflection and meditation on those things which we have completed in this turning of the wheel. The time for this began at Samhain and continues through till Imbolc. As the winter holidays are nearly upon us and Thanksgiving has been and gone, we should be taking one last deep look at who and what we are today. Is there something that you would like to change? Is there something that are saddened at losing? Is there something that you gladdened at having gained? All of these and more are questions to think upon during the dark of the year. It is also a time to begin planning for those things we wish to accomplish in the seasons to come. Though we may not plant the seeds until the first thaw, we can cultivate them in our hearts and minds and landscape our future when the world is dark and cold. It is a time of thanksgiving in the United States. The holiday of Thanksgiving has just passed and this week KaliSara and RevKess would like to share their thanks for many things in their lives. They are also going to open the phones lines up to listeners to share some of what they are thankful for. So, let us give thanks this week for all those wonderful things that have come into our lives.

Ancient rites of passage, tribal markings, NeoPagan image reflection. Throughout history people have do something to change their physical appearance to reflect some aspect of who and what they are. Tattoos, piercings, scarification, and many other forms of body modification are all examples of how someone can change body to show some deeper part of themselves. Your hosts will discuss many of these and how they relate to magick and living a magickal lifestyle. Both of them have gone through one or more of these modifications and will share why they did what they did.

We have discussed finding the reality in fiction, now it is time to address the more narrow (or is that broad?) topic of finding inspiration in fiction. The Pagan community has often found inspiration in what many consider fiction. Marion Zimmer Bradley, Diana L. Paxon, Gerald Gardner, and Dion Fortune (to name a few) have all published works over the last century that have were fiction but addressed the Pagan movement. Join RevKess and KaliSara as they talk about some of the books that have inspired them in their paths and in their own writing. This show airs just under one week into the 2010 NaNoWriMo competition. Both of your hosts are participating in this competition this year and are drawing on some of the inspiration from these and many other authors. With RevKess out of town, KaliSara is going to host a musical celebration of Samhain. Music from artists like Leigh Ann Hussey, Dale Bacon, Gaia Consort and Dead Poets Orchestra. RevKess may be calling in from his Clan Samhain celebration in Denver to share some of the fun of celebrating a Sabbat with a chosen family.

This year, KaliSara and RevKess bring you an early Samhain celebration. RevKess is going to be out of town on the 30th and will not be in control of the boards for that date, so they figured it would be fun to bring you an earlier celebration with music, stories, and trivia for Samhain. Join them this week as they share some of their own experiences with the season and some fun music appropriate to the season.

We've hopped around the globe at random for this series, but with our last episode we stained in Asia. This week we are visiting Africa. Tune in for a discussion of SOME of the gods and goddesses of Africa as we visit the Congo, Nigeria, Chad, and many other parts of one of the greatest influences on the modern Pagan movement.
