In this Spooky Season I thought it would be appropriate to share with you my favorite scary and otherwise Halloween-themed movies. But I realized I couldn't do it alone; so joining me today is an expert in the world of horror films, my friend Le Gault. Join as we celebrate the season!

On this week's episode of Random Trek, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the Mirror Universe, where it's Game of Thrones meets Star Trek in the oppressive Terran Empire. In this alternate universe, the characters we know and love still exist, albeit in evil and conniving forms. This parallel dimension was first introduced in the original Star Trek series, and has since become a favorite of Trekkies and Trekkers everywhere, and these two episodes of the fourth season of Enterprise are some of the best loved of that series. The game's afoot in this installment of Ahsoka. Our antagonists, with prisoner Sabine Wren, arrive at Peridea in the mysterious new galaxy, where they encounter the Great Mothers of the Nightsisters. These witches are all that remains of an ancient kingdom that once dominated this distant world, and it seems they have made a pact of some sort of the diabolical Grand Admiral Thrawn, who we encounter for the first time in live-action in this series. Join me as we explore this episode.

In the 5th chapter of the Ahsoka series, our titular heroine finds herself in the World Between Worlds, a mystical plane of existence beyond space and time. In this realm she encounters the spirit of her former master Anakin Skywalker, who still has a few teachings to impart. Meanwhile, General Hera Syndulla mounts a desperate search for Ahsoka in the waters of Seatos, aided by the enhanced abilities of her Force-sensitive son Jacen.

On this week's episode of Random Trek, Captain Ingle and I set a course for the early years of the 25th century and the voyages of the USS Titan-A. When retired Admiral Picard receives a call for help from Dr. Beverly Crusher, he asks his former first officer Captain Will Riker to pull a few strings to help them charter a ship and go rescue their friend. As the good doctor has warned them not to trust anyone, Picard and Riker attempt to conceal the true nature of their mission from the Titan's obnoxious captain with rather mixed results. It is more than a little likely that George Lucas read JRR Tolkien's masterpiece The Lord of the Rings as he was developing his space opera. It would seem that his successor Dave Filoni is a massive fan of Middle Earth, and the influences of that fantasy world are all over the latest Star Wars series, Ahsoka! Join with me as I point out a few similarities I noticed between the two tales.

This week on our show, Captain Ingle and I take a look at Ron Howard's 1995 historical drama Apollo 13, based on the incredible story of the eponymous NASA mission. While en route to the Moon in 1970, the Apollo 13 spacecraft suffered an explosion in its oxygen tanks, preventing a lunar landing and forcing the astronauts and mission control technicians to figure out a way to return to earth before time runs out for our brave crew. Joining us to discuss this amazing film is returning guest and friend of the show Scott Ferguson. Join us as we go boldly!
