What I have made for myself is personal,

But is not exactly peace…

Most of us live less theatrically, but remain the survivors of

A peculiar and inward time.

Almond by Won-Pyung Sohn is a story of hope, resilience, friendship, human conditioning, and, of course, subtle humour amidst the seriousness of the protagonist's struggles and loss.

“The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.”

Have you noticed that the books that show the society it’s mirror are the books that people bash more or sometimes they are banned too? If not, stay till the end, I am going to talk about one such book today.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

It means that what we see is just physical validation, but what actually makes people valuable is the emotions, kindness, empathy, and their values. And this is the essence of the book that I am going to talk about today.

Laugh with Me by Ruskin Bond is a nostalgic collection of anecdotes from his life. He begins the book with:

“When we are young, we laugh at everyone except ourselves.

When we are a little older, we discover that others are laughing at us. Not so funny. But if you learn to laugh with them you will be happier than most.

And when you grow old, like me, you will learn to laugh at yourself. Then you won’t feel angry or defeated.”

He literally shares the funny moments from his life that made him laugh.

Sometimes, you don’t need to read something heavy or something that demands your full attention. You need something easy, fun, and nostalgic. That’s where children’s literature comes into the picture.

Today, I am back with another interesting episode where I am going to talk about books that will take you back to your childhood. Stay till the end, and you won’t regret it.

While I was struggling to find a quick and easy read, I came across these books, and I finished them all in one go.
