Both men and women experience loneliness but in vastly different ways. The need for social connection is not strictly aligned by gender but certainly impacted by gender norms.
Men have been socialized to hide their feelings and emotions but experience loneliness and do not always allow themselves to be vulnerable. Speak to the men in your life and ask them, are you okay? Let them be vulnerable!
In the last two episodes we've said, Shhh! Don't Talk About Sex. Well, the tide has turned and now we're talking about it. In this episode I get to interview a young Black woman who aspires to be a Sex Therapist and to help support young people and adults on their journey to sexual freedom.

We've all learned something different about sex. It's pretty amazing that sex is much broader than our Westernized ideas! You would be amazed at how broad sex is once you take a look into other cultures and creatures.
It's time to start focusing on YOU! What's your sexual language, thoughts, ideas, likes, dislikes? Time to do the research and exploration.
Let's Talk!

Sex! It's not a dirty word and certainly not a scary word. In his book, Sex and God - How Religion Distorts Sexuality, Dr. Darrel Ray has some pretty dynamic thinking about the impact of religion on sexuality. Whether you're religious or not, how you leanred about sex probably impacts your entire life. Let's talk!
As always, if you have a topic you'd like to discuss feel free to send an email to [email protected]

Depending on where you grew up and your family dynamics, there were things and probably still things that you don't talk about.
Whether it's our emotions, sex, or sexual identity many have been told, "Shhh! We don't talk about that!"
How about you? I'd love to hear from you what were you told we don't talk about that in your family, community, or church?
Let's talk!
If you have not listened to Part 1 - Go back and then come listen to Part 2.
Imagine having the attention of the entire world for 10 seconds. What would you say? Listen in to hear what some of my friends and family have to say. Some of it may make you laugh and some may make you cry. Stop and think, what would you say?
I am gifted with people from all walks of life who have been a part of my journey. Most have a similar message, which I hope you enjoy.

In 7 minutes we can see two Americas! Both Americas are experienced differently by the racial divide. Unarmed, in a mental health crisis, and unsafe in America. Angry, destructive, threatening, and safe in America.
As Black Americans we must hold ourselves and others accountable. We must elevate our civic engagement beyond social media and sideline conversations. We have to act NOW!
