Painting the skyThis grand giftThe eye

Making magic of sightWith the colors so brightThe beautyStops meAnd starts me up, I seeThe most magnificent wonders

Right under our noseThe easy stones, to turn overWe think we knowBy name and labelMinimized by mindIt’s time

To measure the small as the greatestTo move, from jaded to celebratedWe waited, long enoughWith all this potential bubbling upWe all superhumanNow use it

The eyeThis grand giftPainting the sky

Reflection

You ever wake up and the world looks brighter? Or you just pause and take a minute to realize how amazing it is we can see such colors and wonders out of these delicate balls in our face?

I wrote this piece on one of those mornings, pausing with the sun swooping in from a deep blue sky, shadows dropping on my wall as birds soared by.

It’s nice to remember how lucky we are by recognizing the crazy beauty and value in so many things we take for total granted.

So here’s to sight and really seeing.
