My soul and spirit kickingIn the womb of lifeGrowing pains, passing 30Staying sane, it’s normal right
But I feel insideLike when a baby criesThat all my thoughts and dreamsAre caught in a scheme
Unable to talkJust crawling and climbingSearching for the top
With eyes illuminatedOf a child generatedBy the stars
Seeing far beyond the galaxiesTruth, that’s cutting through the fallacies
Shining like your majestyBut just a peasant glad to see
The light, the sparkThe twinkle in those endless eyes
The soul and spiritKicking alive
Reflection
At age 33 with a good job and a mortgage on a good place in a good city, all should be well. But my soul and spirit are kicking inside. I want more out of this life, even if it looks like less.
Yet here am I am with these thoughts incubating for a year. I’m leaning into forward change but not going anywhere, and not getting any younger.
How do you talk to a system that doesn’t speak the language of life?
You don’t. You stay true and keep up on the vision. The twinkle in those endless eyes is all you need.
If your soul and spirit are kicking alive, good. You’re awake. Run with that and you’ll find your freedom.
