Today we're going to talk about sheep. Not the sheep kind of sheep - us. The 99 sheep and the 1.

Growing up, I struggled a bit with being part of the 99 when the focus always seems to be on the 1. I've learned a lot about being one of the 99 though and it's not necessarily what you might think. 

I rediscovered a talk from 2022 called "Do What Mattereth Most," and wanted to share it with some of my own experience and thoughts around being one of the 99.

Today we're looking at Brother Bradley Wilcox's most recent General Conference talk called, "O Youth of the Noble Birthright." It was very clearly directed at the youth of the Church, but no matter how old you are there are truths in it that are applicable to you today.

We can help the youth understand and even embrace their opportunity to stand out from the rest of the world. We can show them what real happiness and joy look like as we make and keep our covenants.

And it's never too late to start trying. Jesus is willing and ready to meet you exactly where you're at.

We'll discuss the paradox of human existence—being nothing compared to God yet everything to Him—along with four divine principles that reassure us of our place in God’s grand design, offering hope and encouragement to those who feel unseen or forgotten.

I'll be upfront about this one - this episode is more for me than it is for you. As a content creator, there's a fine line between genuine purpose and validation. 

I'm a marketer by trade and when it comes to being Paisley, my training sometimes tells me to do things differently than the Spirit does. President Eyring, in this past Sunday's conference, helped "calm my troubled heart" about this, and I'll have to do an episode on that talk another time. Instead, today we're talking about an older talk (1989) by (then) Elder Oaks. It's called "Alternate Voices" and is applicable to all of the noise online today.

Let's talk about the different voices available for us to listen to and which voice to choose for ourselves.

I don't know about you, but President Holland really got me with a part of his talk in this past April’s conference. He was “admonished,” and my thought was that if HE was admonished, is there really any hope for me?
