Welcome back to Paisley’s Posh Nosh on WFHB’s Youth Radio! On this bi-weekly show, I pick and review snacks and drinks that have a special seasonal, holiday, or other theme to them. Not only are my finds fun, but they’re also all healthy. Being a student athlete the majority of my life, I know first hand the importance of fueling your body with the right foods and nutrients enabling you to perform and live at your best!
If you want to know a little more about me: I’m sixteen, a homeschooled junior in high school, founder and owner of my crocheted jewelry business Sweet P Crochets, a competitive swimmer on the local swim team Indiana Swim Club, a songwriter, guitar player, lifeguard, I love spending time with my friends, and I’m also a DJ here at WFHB. Alright, enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
This episode’s theme was Midnight Munchies and we did a fun guessing game to introduce the picks!! The picks were Doughy’s 7 ingredient brownie batter cookie dough and Fairlife’s High Qualities Protein Chocolate Milk!
Both of these picks are super versatile and taste amazing. The drink pick is my personal trusted drink of choice especially before and after swim practice or other workouts! What I love about the snack pick is not only can you love out your childhood fantasies of eating raw cookie dough/batter without the consequence but you can also bake the dough if you’re more of a baked cookie person.
Believe it or not but the snack pick cookie dough actually has health benefits!! How would’ve thought that’d be a sentence!! But it offers you fiber, iron, zinc, and other antioxidants and vitamins. As for the chocolate milk, it provides you with 60% of your daily value of protein, along with potassium and vitamin B12.
Thank you so much for reading, tuning in, or both and as always Luck+Love!!

Alright, enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was “Green”. Very vague compared to some of my other titles, but don’t worry the interesting fun facts and health benefits didn’t leave the building I promise. The picks for this episode were Alo’s Comfort aloe, watermelon, peach juice drink and Mezcla’s puff-crispy matcha vanilla bar. The drink pick has 6 main ingredients, with the most important one being real aloe vera juice and real organic aloe vera pulp. The aloe is aloin-free which all that entails is that the bitter, yellow latex layer found on organic aloe is removed due to the fact that it’s an extremely harsh natural laxative.
Then we got into the fun facts because they say you learn something new every day for a reason. Egyptian queens like Cleopatra and Nefertiti reportedly used aloe vera as part of their daily anti-aging and beauty routines.
While it has thick, spiky leaves and grows in hot deserts, aloe vera is actually a succulent belonging to the Asphodelaceae family (closely related to garlic and onions). If an aloe leaf gets cut or damaged, it instantly secretes a gel that seals over the wound to prevent moisture loss. Primarily because it’s composed of about 99% water. Finally, as a redhead, aloe vera creams have come in handy to say the least when recovering and healing from a sunburn, if you’re gonna trust me on something – trust me on THAT.
Some fun facts about peaches and watermelons are:
Lastly, for the drink pick here’s its health benefits overview:
Don’t think I’ve forgotten about the snack pick, it got equal time in the limelight!
As a quick refresh, the snack pick for this episode was Mezcla’s matcha vanilla puff crisp bar. Same as we did for the drink pick, let’s talk about some facts pertaining to this bar.
There are also different “grades” of matcha. The grades being culinary grade, premium/latte grade, and then ceremonial grade. Shoutout to my mom for teaching me about this. Essentially what all the grades come down to, is what each kind of matcha is used in and/or for. What I mean by that is, the culinary grade is used for cooking and baking, premium/latte grade is used for drinks and best paired with dairy and/or plant-based milks, and the ceremonial grade is traditionally served with just hot water rather than milk. While you certainly could use the premium grade and ceremonial grade the same way, they differ to the higher levels of amino acids found in the ceremonial grade.
Now that we’ve essentially done a background check on these picks, let’s take a peek at the snack pick’s health benefits. This bar is a plant-based, gluten-free, and vegan crispy snack providing 10 grams of protein per bar.
I’ll spare you on the scientific analysis of each ingredient’s benefits, so here’s an overview similar to the one for the drink pick.
Mezcla’s matcha vanilla puff crisp bar promotes muscle recovery, offers several key antioxidants that fight cell damage, it’s allergy friendly, contains less sugar than other protein bars, and keeps you feeling full for longer!
And that’s it for this episode of Paisley’s Posh Nosh on WFHB Youth Radio. Thank you so much for tuning in, make sure to stick around for my DJ song set right after this and as always, Luck+Love!!

Alright, enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was “Fruity Protein Dupes” and once I reveal the picks, it’ll roll up and loop together to make sense! To kick this off, the picks for this episode are Simple Truth’s Protein Electrolyte Drink Mix packets in the flavor passion fruit mango and Truely’s Cereal’s High Protein Fruity Cereal. I love these picks so much because they provide actual high quality protein but also taste fantastic. I use both picks to fuel up before swim practices and swim meets, and I highly recommend it! You can find the drink pick at Kroger and the snack pick at Fresh Thyme. Not only do they taste amazing, but Truely’s Fruity Cereal tastes nearly identical to Froot Loops and in my opinion tastes better! It offers the same classic, nostalgic flavor minus the chemicals and preservatives. When compared to Froot Loops, Truely’s Cereal is the clear winner when it comes to health benefits, nutrition value, flavor, and price.
Studies highlight Froot Loops as unhealthy due to their high sugar content (around 12g to 13g per cup), lack of whole-food nutritional value, and reliance on artificial dyes like Red 40, Yellow 5, and Blue 1. These synthetic dyes have been linked to neurobehavioral issues such as hyperactivity, particularly in children. While some versions boast added fiber, studies indicate these are often extracted and isolated.
On the other hand, when you look at the health benefits and ingredients found in Truely’s fruity cereal you see 18g of protein, fortified nutrients like iron, folate, and B vitamins. It utilizes natural, low-calorie sweeteners, making Truely a keto-friendly alternative. On a lighter note, here are some fun facts about the nostalgic cereal we know as Froot Loops.
All Froot Loops actually taste exactly the same. No matter the color, each piece of the cereal contains the exact same blend of sweeteners and flavorings, despite the tricks your brain plays when looking at the different bright colors. When Kellogg’s first launched the cereal in 1963, there were only three colors: red, orange, and yellow. Due to stricter additive regulations, the version sold in the UK uses natural fruit/plant extracts for color and is larger and coarser than the US version. Lastly, While the name is spelled playfully as “Froot,” the cereal contains no actual fruit. As for the drink pick I LOVE this pick for before, during, or after swim practice or any physical activity for that matter. The 9 grams of whey protein provide the essential amino acids needed to maintain and repair muscles after a workout. It features coconut water powder and electrolytes to help replenish fluids and minerals lost through sweat or daily activity faster than water alone. With 340mg of calcium, it provides an extra nutritional boost to support bone strength and muscle function. Sweetened with stevia, it contains only 1g of added sugar, allowing you to stay hydrated without the sugar spike and crash. It is non-GMO, uses natural flavors, and avoids artificial colors or sweeteners.
And now you’re in the loop! Thank you so much for reading and as always, Luck + Love!

Alright, enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was Red, White, and Blue. I know 4th of July has passed but this year marks the 250th anniversary of our country, and that’s quite the milestone if you ask me. So, to congratulate our country for making it this far, both picks for this episode are either red, white, blue and maybe even all three? Guess you’ll have to stick around to find out. The patriotic picks for this episode were Tanto’s Marinara Puffed Pasta Chips and Bloom Pop’s Rocket Blast Prebiotic Soda. Ironically, both these picks happen to be in my Top 3 Favorites list. I eat them all the time for a quick snack before or after swim practice! Not to mention they’re both significantly healthier than most modern snacks.
Before we get to the health benefits which I’ll keep short ‘n’ sweet, here are some flashy fun facts that are sure to spark your curiosity. The word marinara translates to “sailor’s style” in Italian. It was originally named after the preferred, quick-to-prepare meal of Italian fishermen and merchants on long expeditions at sea. Some historians note that before tomato sauces became popular, Italians ate their pasta entirely dry—or only with olive oil and garlic. Snacks like Tantos Puffed Pasta Chips are recognized as the first-ever puffed pasta chip, crafted directly from real semolina wheat pasta before being dried and puffed. Founders of Tantos Puffed Pasta Chips pitched their pasta snacks on Shark Tank, with “Sharks” like Daniel Lubetzky (founder of KIND Snacks) praising the flavor. Red, white, and blue (found on the American flag, as well as numerous patriotic holiday snacks) symbolize hardiness and valor (red), purity and innocence (white), and vigilance, perseverance, and justice (blue).
And with that, let’s get into the health benefits of this episode’s picks! We’ll start off with the snack pick. A typical serving (about 26 chips) contains around only 130 calories. It also provides 2g of plant-based protein per serving to help keep you fuller longer. Seasoned with real ingredients like tomatoes, garlic, onion, and oregano. They contain zero added trans fats, zero cholesterol, and minimal sugars. They are a vegan-friendly snack free from artificial colors and preservatives. Rocket Blast prebiotic soda balances sweet cherry, lemon-lime, and blue raspberry notes. Contains prebiotic Xylooligosaccharides (XOS) which are clinically studied to support gut health and feed beneficial gut bacteria. Unlike standard sugary soft drinks, this beverage has only 20 calories and contains just 3g of sugar. Free from artificial flavors, colors, preservatives, and aspartame. It is completely caffeine-free.
Thank you so much for reading, tuning in, or both and as always: Luck + Love!

Not only are my finds fun, but they’re also all healthy. Being a student athlete the majority of my life, I know first hand the importance of fueling your body with the right foods and nutrients enabling you to perform and live at your best!
If you want to know a little more about me: I’m fifteen, a homeschooled sophomore in high school, founder and owner of my crocheted jewelry business Sweet P Crochets, a competitive swimmer on the local swim team Indiana Swim Club, songwriter, guitar player, lifeguard, I love spending time with my friends, and I’m also a DJ here at WFHB. Alright enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was “My Summertime Favorites”! For context, both of the flavors of the picks for this episode are some of my all time favorite flavors, and the picks themselves are also high up on the favorites list. I’m sure you’re very curious to know what they are so without further ado: the picks for this episode were Evolution Fresh’s Watermelon Raspberry Organic Soda and Cravings by Chrissy Teigen Key Lime Cake Mix! All of my friends and family know that watermelon is my favorite fruit and raspberries are my second. SO, when I saw Evolutions Organic soda with BOTH flavors, naturally I HAD to try it. Additionally, ever since I was little I’ve loved key lime pie, and who doesn’t love cake? So, when I saw a key lime cake mix on the shelf, it was a must try. Additionally, we went over a lot of fun facts and here are a couple of my favorites to keep to the theme!
Botanically speaking, watermelons are a type of berry called a pepo. However, they are legally classified as a vegetable crop in the U.S. for trade and tariff purposes. Next, Real Florida key limes are native to Southeast Asia and arrived in the Caribbean via Spanish explorers. A devastating hurricane in 1926 wiped out the vast majority of the commercial Key lime groves in the Florida Keys, meaning most “key limes” in supermarkets today are grown in Mexico and/or Central America. Also, despite having “berry” in the name, botanists do not consider raspberries to be true berries. They are “aggregate fruits,” meaning each individual berry is a cluster of tiny separate fruits called drupelets. Lastly, believe it or not raspberries are related to roses!
Of course, we went over the picks’ health benefits as well and while I save the detailed analysis so to speak for on air, it wouldn’t be fair for you to miss out so here’s a quick run down.
Evolution Fresh’s Watermelon Raspberry Organic Soda is a better-for-you sparkling beverage that provides digestive support, immune-boosting Vitamin C, and natural hydration. It contains real squeezed fruit, zero added sugar, and prebiotic fiber, making it a healthier alternative to traditional sugary sodas. You can find it at your local Kroger, on their website, at Blooming Foods, and Fresh Thyme! Cravings by Chrissy Teigen Key Lime Cake Mix is formulated with natural, Non-GMO ingredients and natural key lime powder rather than artificial flavors or colors (it uses turmeric and spirulina for color). It is certified Kosher and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans (depending on the oils and egg substitutes used to bake it). While it is a healthy alternative to other mixes and desserts, moderation is always, always, always key!
Thank you so much for reading, tuning in, or both and I’ll catch you on the flip side, Luck+Love!

Alright enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme of this episode was “Yellow”. No long, hard to pronounce, ambiguous names this time! My DJ song set was also that theme which was really fun. Once I reveal the picks for this episode, the color wheel will stop spinning and you’ll see why “Yellow” is the theme. Speaking of, the picks for this episode were Fillo’s Walking Tamales and Woodstock’s Banana Water in the flavor Strawberry! I don’t need to quiz you on what color bananas are, they’re of course yellow, but so are tamales. While tamales themselves air on the more golden side, it’s in the same color family. What they’re made of though is what’s yellow, and that’s corn!
Moving on to the health benefits of these yellow picks! Before that though, both of these picks can be found at Bloomingfoods or Kroger! While I keep the in-depth analysis for on air, here’s a quick run down. Both picks are excellent sources of potassium, antioxidants, an assortment of vitamins like vitamin A, and carbohydrates. Perfect before a sports practice or even a midnight snack.
Thank you so much for reading, tuning in, or both. Tune in next episode to hear what I pick next, and as always, Luck+Love!

Alright enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was “Sweet Pink” and the picks were Like Air’s Cotton Candy Popcorn and Lemon Perfect’s Organic Dragon Fruit Lemon Water. Inspiration for this episode came from the warm, springy weather that’s finally decided to stick around. When I think of Spring I think of flowers, Easter, pastels, plants blooming, etc. I also think of fun days outside walking through festivals, carnivals, and farmers markets. The picks for this episode are very “spring core” as the people in my generation would say. Before we get to the health benefits these picks offer, both of these can be found at your local Kroger’s. Alright let’s Get This Party Started! I won’t get scientifically specific here with the health benefits, as I save those for on air, but here’s a quick run down for you! The drink pick’s main benefits were skin health promotion as well as supporting your digestive system. As for the snack pick’s health benefits, they include: low calorie count, low fat content, and it’s an excellent alternative to standard popcorn and cotton candy all while getting to have both flavor profiles present. It’s a win/win!
Thank you so much for reading, tuning in, or both. Tune in next episode to hear what I pick next, and as always, Luck+Love!

The theme for this episode was “Dirty” and for quick clarification: no, I’m not suggesting you eat and drink dirt or mud. The inspiration for this episode came from the reemerging, popular dirty sodas! The drink pick in this episode was the Strawberry Coconut Dirty Soda, and the snack pick was the Purple Sweet Potato Chocolate Mud Cookies. Yes, you read that right, cookies made with purple sweet potatoes! Have I ever recommended something not tasty? No, so don’t worry, trust me on this one. It is unusual, I’ll give you that. While I save the description of the health benefits for on air, here’s a quick run down. The most common health benefits found in the drink pick were energy restoration properties, digestion aid, and immune support. As for the snack pick, the most common health benefits were anti-inflammation properties as well as anti-aging and high levels of antioxidants.

Alright enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
The theme for this episode was Unconventional Cold Remedies. The concept was fresh on my mind as I had just recovered from the flu. Fun fact, the picks for this episode were tested by me when I was sick, and they helped me feel a lot better! So, hopefully they’ll help you the same way they did for me next time you get hit with the sickness bug. Introducing the food picks for this episode: Kuli Kuli’s Organic Ube Coconut Superfood Latte and Ice Cream For Bear’s Roar-ange Ice Cream.
That was a lot to read I know, just imagine having to say that on air! Despite the long names, I’ll keep the health benefits quick. The most popular benefits amongst the drink pick’s ingredients are cognitive function, skin, hair and nail health, and cardiovascular health. As for the snack pick the most common benefits were eye and immune health, along with bone health. Tune in next time to hear a more in depth description of my picks and their health benefits.

Alright enough about me, let’s get to this episode’s theme!
First and foremost Happy New Year! This was the first episode of 2026 and this is the first post of the year too. What a great way to start the new year off right by tuning in to my show. This episode’s theme was the classic, the slick and chic, Black and White theme. Additionally, my DJ song set was also Black and White. The picks for this episode were Virgil’s Root Beer and Rip Van’s Leos cookies and cream copycat Oreo cookies.
Inspiration for this episode came from some recent studies that have proven Oreos to be one of the most unhealthy snacks. Naturally, I looked into it and found an identical alternative with the exact same (if not better) flavor. While both picks don’t have any health benefits like immune support, cardiovascular support, etc, they are healthy alternatives to standard root beer and Oreos. Speaking of, unlike standard root beer Virgil’s root beer contains zero artificial flavors, zero preservatives, and zero caffeine. Similarly, Rip Van’s Leos cookies contain significantly less sugar than Oreos, along with less added chemicals. So next time you’re craving a root beer or Oreos, consider these picks!
Thank you so much for reading, make sure to tune in on January 24th at 4 PM to hear my next episode.
Luck+Love!
