After Donald Trump took credit for negotiating a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, Israeli occupation forces killed several Palestinian civilians in Gaza on Tuesday of this week, violating a ceasefire as Israel’s government vowed to keep restricting aid to the devastated enclave until Hamas returns the bodies of hostages taken two years ago. On today’s Palestine Post, we speak with Dr. Ussama Makdisi, Professor of History and Chancellor’s Chair at the University of California Berkeley. He was previously Professor of History and the first holder of the Arab-American Educational Foundation Chair of Arab Studies at Rice University in Houston. He is the author of many books including Age of Coexistence: The Ecumenical Frame and the Making of the Modern Arab World which was published in 2019 by the University of California Press.
