Trained in economics, Ms. Gibson is the is a senior advisor at The Hastings Center. She led national health care quality and safety initiatives at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She was chief architect of the foundation’s decade-long strategy that successfully established palliative care in more than 1,600 hospitals in the United States.

Trained as a physician, Dr. Foley focused on pain management within neurology and started palliative care. She originated the Project on Death in America and developed an international plan for palliative care worldwide. Dr Foley is emeritus at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Trained as physician, Dr. Lynn was an early hospice physician geriatrician and long term care physician. She developed the and ran the SUPPORT study. She has served at CMS, IHI, and the Washington Department of Health to improve the quality of health care and care to elders.

Trained in public administration, Ms. Twohig has a long history of involvement with community based programs. She served as deputy director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s national program Promoting Excellence in End-of-Life Care and then was deputy director of the Duke Institute on Care at the End of Life at Duke University. She is currently a consultant for CAPC.

Trained as a urologic oncology surgeon, Dr. Mount is the father of palliative care in North America. He coined the term palliative care, while he developed a robust palliative care program at McGill University in Montreal Canada. He also began the McGill Biennial International Congress. He also helped develop a manual for other programs across the globe.

Trained as a psychologist, Dr. Connor has been involved in hospice care since the 1970s. He worked in the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization around the Hospice Benefit. For the last 15 years, he has focused on international palliative care. He is Executive Director of the Worldwide Hospice and Palliative Care Alliance.

Trained as a physician, He developed the first palliative care program in the United States at Cleveland Clinic. In he is editor-in-chief for the BMJ Supportive and Palliative Care journal.

Trained in public health, Ms. Lund Person was involved in the development of hospice in its early years and worked on the passage of the Medicare Hospice Benefit. She is the Vice President of Regulator and Compliance for NHPCO.

Trained as a physician, he was a pioneer in hospice care and pain management. Dr Twycross served as the Director of the World Health Organization's Collaborating Centre for Palliative Care from 1988–2005,
