In this episode of the IJGC podcast, Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Pedro Ramirez, is joined by Dr. Raimundo Correa (@racobul) from Clinica Las Condes in Chile, to talk about palliative care in the management of patients with gynecological cancer. They discuss the use of the term "supportive care," the integration of palliative care with cancer treatment and the importance of a multidisciplinary team - including volunteers and family members - comprehensively looking after a patient's physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Drs. Ramirez and Correa also discuss the right time and the right way to talk to patients and their families about palliative care, as well as adapting and improving palliative care in low-resource countries.
