    1 Peter 2:9-17

    1. No government, No politician, No political group, No president is your God or your Savior

    2. God, the Most High, still reigns—He is on His throne and always will be

    3. Jesus is still King over all, even if He never receives a vote

    4. The Bible is still the most liberating “constitution” ever written

    5. The Lord’s church is still the most powerful nation on earth

    6. Your citizenship in heaven is more valuable and a greater priority than any earthly things

    7. Your membership in the Lord’s church is more important than your membership in any political party or action group

    8. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is more important than your relationship with any other person or group

    9. Your brethren in the church and your relationship with your brethren is more important than any other person or group

    10. Your brethren are not your enemies

    11. You are still responsible to respect, submit to and pray for all governing authorities

    12. Souls are still lost in sin and the pure gospel of Christ still saves, and you are responsible to proclaim it

    13. Christians (You!) still need to live—above all else—like Christ-ians and not like the world

    14. Christians (You!) need to take a stand for God’s truth and God’s righteousness in the face of unrighteousness, even if no one else does

    15. Christians (You!) need to live a life of faithful service to God in the sight of others

    16. Christians (You!) need to pursue peace with all people

    17. Focusing on earthly things can and will take your focus off heavenly things
