Paul and Tootle talk about the draft opinion that was leaked from the United States Supreme Court last week. They talk about the circumstances the created the circumstances for Roe v. Wade in 1973; what putting abortion laws back into the hands of state legislatures will likely lead to; and how a leak from a justice or even a clerk can puncture the trust of the Supreme Court.
Paul and Reggie talk about California's latest idea on cutting down truck pollution by emphasizing more railroad transportation for goods. (2:43); Then they talk about the kind of mosquito season we are all in for after California missed it's window from releasing genetically modified sterile mosquitos that showed promise in getting rid of the pestering Ninja Mosquito (14:33)
Paul and Tootle talk about an AP report that shows Americans are deeply divided over how much children in K-12 schools should be taught about racism and sexuality, according to a new poll from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and The AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Overall the country thinks that curriculum in these areas should be slightly expanded but there are definite cleavages between Republicans and Democrats. In context, the AP reports that Republican pollsters are finding that what started as a gripe over virtual learning has turned into a heated concern over what’s being taught.
Paul and Reggie talk about the city of Lindsay's drought situation in the face of dwindling surface water and perhaps forcing them to put contaminated water in their system (2:40); Then they talk about Kaweah Health's decision to build a 9 story hospital that will meet the state's seismic standards by 2030 (16:30).
Paul and Tootle talk about the only topic worthy mentioning this week after a clip of GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy proved that he admonished Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 attempted insurrection. McCarthy at first denied he said anything of the sort before the New York Times released the clip.
