  • Paperback Behavior Shorties #005: Critchfield & Shue (2018)

We're back at it again with some spooky reads, and there really isn't anything scarier than the Dead Man Test (besides pseudoscience). In this Shorty, Patrick dives into one of our favorite Critchfield articles.

  • Paperback Behavior Shorties #004: Kurt Vonnegut - Thanasphere

Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite author. This is the first short story of his that genuinely scared me, which is interesting considering he's not a horror writer. But what an impactful story.

If you'd like to check it out, feel free to grab his complete work of short stories HERE.

  • Paperback Behavior Shorties #003: Ward et al. (2021)

This article blew my mind for so many reasons. The big take away here? Always be ready to learn and question what you know. There is no finish line for science, and this is a great example of that.

  • Paperback Behavior Shorties #002: Dune by Frank Herbert

I feel like Dune is a great discussion around UMOs and resource limits. Also, this is just a really well written book. Sure, it's not behavior analytic. And yea, maybe it's a bit nerdy. But the spice. must. flow.

In this episode, Shane gives as quick an overview of Dune as one could, and hopefully he convinces you to join him on Paul Atreides' journey as the Muad'Dib and the kwisatz haderach. Doesn't make sense? Yes, you're right. But it's worth it.

  • Paperback Behavior Shorties #001: Upper (1974)

Oh, a change in format! Welcome to our new weekly episodes, our Paperback Shorties! In these episodes, we spend a very brief amount of time reviewing articles and books that we enjoy that wouldn't cover a season. These won't be worth CEs, but we hope you get a kick out of these just the same.

In our innaugural episode, we spend a bit of time talking about the 1974 article from Upper titled "The Unsuccessful Self-Treatment of a Case of 'Writer's Block.'" We also spend a bit of time talking about some replications!
