“Sometimes we discount what we actually did in the military. If you're doing maintenance, yes, you're a leader. Yes, you're dealing with people. If you're going for a specific route on People Operations, you may need to highlight the people, the leadership piece, more so than the maintenance piece. Because some civilians won't understand how that pertains to you wanting to do HR, for instance. I think we discredit ourselves a lot when people don't understand our resumes. And so I highly encourage folks to get that help, because we all have to learn from each other and grow.”
