Student Pastor Ashtin Wright discusses from Galatians 2:20 where our motivation for obedience should come from and how obeying from the right motivation can change your walk.
“Thou hast loved me everlastingly, unchangeably,
may I love thee as I am loved;
Thou hast given thyself for me,
may I give myself to thee;
Thou hast died for me,
may I live to thee,
in every moment of my time,
in every movement of my mind,
in every pulse of my heart.
May I never dally with the world
and its allurements,
but walk by thy side,
listen to thy voice,
be clothed with thy graces,
and adorned with thy righteousness.”

Student pastor Ashton Wright's Sunday morning message from April 3rd
Leading up to our passage this morning, Jesus and the disciples had been in the upper room eating the Passover meal together. The Bible teaches us that Judas the Iscariot left dinner to meet with the religious leaders to betray Jesus. After Judas leaves, Jesus warns Peter directly as well as the other disciples that Satan is seeking to tempt them and sift them like wheat; Peter assures Jesus that they will not fail Him. As we come to our passage this morning Jesus is leading the disciples to the Mount of Olives to pray so that they may not enter into temptation. In verses39-46, Jesus not only exhorts His disciples to pray that they may not enter into (succumb to)temptation, but Jesus models the necessity of prayer in overcoming temptation. By observing Jesus we identify characteristics of prayer that overcomes temptation
