J.D. Candidate, Tiana Boardman, started her legal journey at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland majoring in criminal justice. After graduation, she transferred to the University of Maryland, College Park to complete her Bachelor’s, also in criminal justice. She is currently a 3rd year evening student at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Tiana started working as a legal secretary at Hansel Law, P.C. while attending school at Prince George’s Community College and has worked her way up to Paralegal. After graduation, she will remain at the firm as an associate attorney. She has a passion for civil rights, particularly police and correctional misconduct cases and has testified before the Maryland House and Senate several times in support of sweeping police reform.

Tiana is also a new business owner. During her first year of law school, she started making whipped shea butter as a form of self-care. Creating products by hand gives her a sense of calm and relaxation while also producing something so incredibly beneficial to our skin. She expanded into making lotions, shower steamers, and crystal jewelry. All products are hand made to order with six ingredients or less.

She completed her undergrad with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. In her spare time, she likes to workouts, spend time with friends and family, and bake desserts. Williams, Esquire is the owner and operator of Legacy Law, a boutique estate planning law practice in Parsippany, NJ.  In addition to handling the testamentary desires of her clients, Ms. Williams also practices in the areas of business and real property law. When she is not managing her law practice, Ms. Williams also works as a consultant for the life sciences industry where she has over a decade of experience in pharmacovigilance alliance management and vendor oversight. She also works as a professor at Peirce College in the Legal Studies division where she instructs in the areas of business law and ethics. When she is not working or teaching law, she spends time with her family. traveling and practicing yoga.

Alexis Kilpatrick-Jones, J.D. Candidate, is a graduate with her Bachelor of Business Administration from North Carolina Central University and her Masters of Business Administration from Averett University in Danville Virginia. Her interest in the law began early, watching Ally McBeal, her favorite TV drama in the 90s; her passion for law has recently been reignited through the now 11-year fight for her  husband’s Veterans disability benefits. This process impassioned her so much so, that she has applied and has successfully been accepted to Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. Upon her  commencement and Bar passage, Alexis plans to open a private practice in addition to a  nonprofit, focusing on Veterans law.

Today I have the pleasure of speaking with Paralegal Hope Wilson-DuBose.

Hope received her foundation in Legal Studies from Faulkner University in Mobile, AL.  During that time she began working for Legal Services of Alabama where she spent a number of years working in all areas of Civil law.  It was also during that time when she became a Domestic Voilence Advocate.

In 2012, Hope relocated to Georgia and enrolled in Kennesaw University to learn Georgia law through their paralegal program. Hope is also a Registered Mediator for the GA Department of Resolution. During this time she had the opportunity to work on Stacey Abrams legal team against the state of GA and voters rights. She is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.  In 2016, Hope founded Perfectly Signed,LLC where she offers travel notary, Paralegal and Mediation Services. Hope credits her my most important job as  being a mother of 3 amazing children.
