Today Dimmer talks to Canadian psychologist and psychoanalyst, Susan Meindl about Jungian themes and Active Imagination. Q couldn't make this episode, but don't worry, he'll be back for the next. See below for details of Susan's presentation to the C G Jung Society of Montreal!
Such Stuff as Dreams Are Made On:
The Role of Fantasy in Jungian Life
A lecture by Susan Meindl
Friday, April 12th 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (EDT)
A short video clip about her presentation

Susan Meindl is a psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Montreal, Canada
Active imagination is considered one of the “four pillars” of Jungian psychology. There are, however, many naturally and intuitively entered-into mental activities which draw on the same human capacities as active imagination, but without an intentional therapeutic effect. For individuals with a strong capacity for imagination, fantasy life can be alluring, treacherous and for some, addictive. What happens when active imagination escapes the analyst’s office and wanders around “wild” in the psychological world?
Jung was aware of some of the dangers, but he also felt that active imagination was a powerful adjunct to dreams as a way of connecting to deeper parts of ourselves, individuating and creating a living relationship with our unconscious. Please join me for this lecture and seminar in which we will explore some of the fascinating, and often revealing, aspects of fantasy and imagination.

Today we talk to fellow YouTuber LittleOlBee about the expectations that others hold for Maladaptive Daydreamers. I'm not even sure that's a good way to explain it but it's the best I can do.

Since then I've been working hard to secure funding to make a long documentary about MD, and I was recently given development money from the Dutch public broadcaster for the project.
As part of my research I would like to speak to individuals about their experience with MD through Zoom/Skype. Initially it would be for my own research but I might be interested in filmmaking with you for the documentary in the future. I'm particularly keen to speak to individuals based in Europe, but those in other parts of the world are welcome to get in touch as well. No requirements to speak English fluently.
If you're open to speaking with me please send an email to: [email protected]
If you email me can you please make sure to include the following information:
