Karl hated ghosts.
When Jax Ember first met him in a church basement, Karl was supposed to be nothing more than the man behind the camera. Instead, he became the person who taught Jax that evidence could lie without being fake, that pancakes at midnight could count as a date, and that love did not always arrive carrying punishment with it.
In Episode Seven of The Ember Files, Jax remembers the beginning of Karl: the investigations, the first kiss, the ordinary nights, and the strange little acts of love that slowly became home.
