  • 17: Child on the Spectrum- Brad Curnow

Welcome to the Young Dad Pod; we welcome Black Jack Brad onto the show today. Brad is the Co-host of Baseball Together and Seattle Baseball Together. Baseball is a passion of Brad's, and so is being a dad and a great friend of the show.

Today we debate between Peanut Butter and Nutella, Barefoot Always, Instagram Famous, or Tik Tok Famous, and the answers will surprise you. Lastly, find out if Brad is on team pineapple on Pizza.

Next, we discuss what it's been like for Brad to have a child on the spectrum and how that's changed him as a dad. What has that been like for their relationship with his wife, son, and himself? It's an enlightening, educational, and bomb.com discussion, and honestly, it changed my perspective on how I interact daily with my kids. Let's say you embrace being a dad and go all in; it's your new norm.

Lastly, we end with a particular draft for Stella, the show's star today. We do a Fisher Price branded Toy Draft, and let's say I think that Brad might have done some cooperation to win.

Brad: Little People Animals, Frozen Castle, Grocery Basket, Ice Cream Cart

Aaron: Buggy, Playhouse, T-ball Set, Corn Popper

Jey: Teaching Clock, Food Truck, Kitchen, Fish Set

    You can find Brad

  • 16: I'm the Problem

Welcome to Episode 7 of the Young Dad Pod. Today, Jey and Aaron talk about some of their irrational fears to help you feel like you're not the only that has them. Honestly, Jey's are pretty ridiculous. You can laugh; it's okay.

Then some technical difficulties arise during a conversation on self. Self-accountability, self-responsibility, ownership of your heart, mind, and feelings, and realizing YOU are your problem.

We then get some life advice from the brothers on what they would go back and tell themselves in dark moments and some of the most exciting moments of their lives to date. We also learn more about Jey and some of his struggles with intrusive thoughts.

Lastly, you're taken live on the scene as the brothers have boots on the ground and take you through some of the most outlandish headlines from the world around you. Those dang squirrels!

This week, Jey hosts a Let's Talk about Movember, why he loves it, and why you should. Jey tells you his story of mental health struggles and why we should care about our fellow bros. Listener caution, there are a couple F-bombs.

Men's suicide is at a record high as there are 5x more male suicide victims than females. One minute of every day, a man commits suicide. The most common cancer is testicular cancer; African-Americans are 2x as likely to get prostate cancer.
