Pastor Dan Mason continued our The Supremacy of Christ series by showing that Christ's lordship extends into our closest relationships. Walking through Colossians 3:18–4:1, he reminded us that the gospel is not only meant to transform our hearts but also the way we relate to our spouses, children, parents, coworkers, and those under our care. Rather than reflecting the world's pursuit of power or self-interest, Christian relationships are marked by sacrificial love, humility, honor, and faithful service because every role is ultimately lived before the Lord. Whether in the home or the workplace, we are called to embrace God's good design, treating one another with dignity and grace while working wholeheartedly for Christ. Pastor Dan concluded by reminding us that forgiveness and reconciliation are at the heart of the gospel, challenging us to consider whether our relationships reflect the supremacy of Jesus and pointing us to the One who enables us to love others as He has loved us.

THE REVERENCE OF GOD, PARENTS, & HUSBANDS The Bible never teaches that God is to reverence men; parents are to reverence their children; or husbands are to reverence their wives. Modern culture tells us that authority should be replaced with personal autonomy. But what does the Bible teach? This sermon examines the biblical meaning of reverence and godly fear, showing that Scripture commands believers to fear and reverence God, children to reverence their parents, and wives to reverence their husbands. We will also examine the consequences of casting off God's ordained order and how the rejection of rightful authority turns homes and societies upside down. Drawing from passages such as Psalm 89, Hebrews 12, Ephesians 5, 1 Peter 3, Proverbs 30, and many others, this message contrasts modern slogans with biblical truth and calls Christians back to humble obedience, biblical order, and the fear of the Lord. "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him." — Psalm 89:7

God cares about how we parent our children. God also cares about children and how they respond to their parents. As Christian parents and children, we need to take our cues from God's Word and not from the world. The Word of God rises above culture to help us understand how we can flourish in our homes for His glory and our good!

Faithful parenting requires rejecting cultural norms to persistently share biblical truth with their children. God will accomplish His purpose in His time.
