The media lies. While this is not news to anyone, what often gets missed is how the fact that the media lies quashes any sort of academic discussion of sensitive topics. The result of this is that what should be an academic discussion of a sensitive topic will instead get reduced to what amounts to a bumper sticker slogan. A classic example of this is the proclamation that “violence is never the answer to real political change”. This is a nice safe thing to say but is it accurate? This topic will seldom be discussed because everyone knows that given the chance, the media will take every opportunity to twist the discussion into some sort of call for people to undertake violent acts. This results in people being afraid to even discuss the topic at all.

In the Christian specific segment this week, we will focus on keeping yourself centered and on task in the midst of this spiritual war that you are in.
