How many of us believers were once "tuned in" to the Spirit of God, we could hear God speaking in our lives. We were excited about Jesus and serving him, but after a time God has grown silent, we no longer hear God. We no longer find joy in our salvation, we no longer hear God’s Spirit speaking. There is still hope, however.

If we were to ask Paul what he was fighting for and why he was so devoted to the battle and the cost that he had to pay, what was worth such an effort, he would likely tell us: “I fought for the truth of God, I fought for the honor of Christ, I fought for the redemption of sinners, and I fought for the benefit of saints.”

J.L. Packard once wrote, "The Greek word agape love seems to be virtually a Christian invention -- a new word for a new thing. It is almost non-existent before the New Testament. Agape draws its meaning directly from the revelation of God in Christ. It is not a form of natural affection, but a supernatural fruit that comes from the Holy Spirit. It is a matter of the will rather than a feeling for Christians must love even those they dislike. It is the basic element in Christ-likeness."
